Water Colour painting of a lazy afternoon for three mates, happily fishing in a little row boat. |
There is a song well known to many by a group mostly from New Zealand called "Six Months in a Leaky Boat". I was trying to think of a nice little practice water colour I could do that would be fun. |
The song kept going through my head then suddenly changed to "Three Men in a Leaky Boat". The whole picture popped into my head and I was so captured by how the colours and reflections would look that I got stuck right into it. |
Unlike some attempts at water colour this really was fun to do. I quickly ran the brushes over the paper and tried to keep the spontaneity and looseness without compromising the subject to the point of not knowing what it was. |
The idea is to have the impression of shapes not the detail. It has to look like a painting - not a photo or a reproduction of one. |
